Sharing the
European
Experience
We’re back!
The UK is coming home to Erasmus Plus, after a bit of a “holiday”…
This is going to give young people so many amazing opportunities to learn, grow, explore new places and make friends across Europe and around the world. These opportunities have been out of reach for UK youth for the last few years - but not any more!
How are young people going to find out about all this? That’s where EuroPeers UK comes in! We’re a network of British and international young people who love travelling and want to share our experiences. We are going to promote Erasmus Plus and tell everyone why it’s so worth taking part.
Don’t let anyone tell you it’s only for university students - that’s a lie! Anyone age 13-30 can take part, and some projects are even open to younger kids.
So why don’t you join us? You’re welcome if:
you live in the UK
you are age 16-30
you EITHER have participated in an Erasmus Plus, European Solidarity Corps or other international project, OR would love to do that
you want to make sure other young people get to know about these opportunities
you are looking for your own leadership opportunities and want to be part of a creative, energetic team
If you’re already a member of YEM, European Youth Parliament, Erasmus Student Network or any similar group, please join us too! We want to work closely with all of them. EuroPeers UK is an inclusive network and we believe in partnership, equal opportunity and empowerment.
Together we can make sure that UK young people don’t miss out on the life-changing experiences Europe has to offer.
What does it mean to be a EuroPeer, and what opportunities will it give me?
Activities
As a EuroPeer, you will play an important part in the National Campaign for Erasmus Plus. You’ll work alongside experienced professional people to promote the benefits of the programme to schools, colleges, youth organisations and the general public. This may include:
Presentations to schools or groups
Attending conferences or other events
Speaking or writing to MPs, local councillors, business leaders etc.
Making contact with EuroPeers networks in other countries
Media interviews
Writing articles for the press
Creating social media content
Organising public activities in your community
Benefits
All sorts of benefits could come your way, as the network grows. The sooner you join, and the more active you are, the more opportunities you will get. We’re not making any promises, but based on how EuroPeers UK worked in the past, these are likely to include:
Leadership roles - coordinating the network and its activities at local or national level
Creative roles (film, photography, design, content creation etc.)
Leadership and intercultural skills training
Developing your presentation, organisational and admin skills
Representing EuroPeers UK at international events
Participating in Erasmus Plus projects, or running your own projects
Access to internships
Learning and practising how to be a trainer
Building a dynamic CV through digital badges
More about EuroPeers
EuroPeers started in Germany, back in 2005, when a group of young people who took part in the European Voluntary Service (EVS) wanted to stay involved in European projects. They created the EuroPeers network to help other young people discover all the opportunities open to them in Europe, like travelling, volunteering, and learning new skills.
Since then, EuroPeers has spread across Europe with different countries setting up their own networks. EuroPeers UK was one of the most active networks, but when we dropped out of Erasmus Plus, we had to take a break, and our connection with the rest of EuroPeers and other European youth organisations took a hit. That’s why EuroPeers UK is now focused on bringing these opportunities back for everyone, as fast as we can.
Our website
This is a temporary website, hosted by InterCom. We’re planning to have our own site as soon as we can. Maybe you would like to design it for us?
